Challenge: Delaying Gratification & Creating Separation

I come to the end of a week, I've crossed nearly all the items off of a list I set myself at the beginning of last week. Although I achieved the goal set out, I did so in a very inefficient manner. I could have accomplished much more.

I've been slowly loosing the motivation that I gained at the start of the year. I am realizing this is because I am not delaying gratification, and I am blurring the line between work and leisure.

Often during my work day I find myself checking emails, analytics, social media only as procrastination from the task at ham. A simple habit loop to pop over and 'check something'. The same often happens then back to work when I relax in the evenings. I check back into projects, work emails etc.

Working from home and enjoying the work I do has created this issue. I feel I need to both look forward to my leisure, and look forward to working pushing my projects forward - but these need to be clearly separated.

The lack of work/leisure separation clouds my mind and has been draining me of my motivation.

I wanted to publicly challenge myself and those who might find benefit to the following:

Next week delay gratification during working hours. Do not indulge in habit loops, analysis paralysis or any other type of procrastination. Focus and dominate the work you've set out for yourself. Keep your gratifying actions, however small they may be until you've hung your hat for the day. At the end of your working time, separate yourself from the work and don't return to it until the next day.

Personally I want to take it to an extreme. 100% focus. I would rather work 4 pure productive hours in a day than 12 distracted, procrastination filled hours.

Here's mental clarity and increased productivity.
 
Stuck to the challenge this past week, only a couple minor slip ups. Huge improvement from the week before as far as focus and actual output, the biggest positive being constant clear headedness rather than cloudy.
